$8000 of tools found in van in Welland
Niagara Regional Police are searching for a 41-year-old man after recovering a van full of stolen tools in Welland.
Officers found the abandoned cargo van on Kingsway Monday night after the driver fled the scene.
Investigators say the van had been stolen and was linked to several break-ins across Niagara, with about $8,000 worth of stolen tools and merchandise recovered.
Police have issued a warrant for Joshua Stephens on several charges, including break and enter, possession of stolen property and dangerous driving.
Anyone who sees him is asked not to approach him, but to contact police immediately.
Investigators are also looking to identify the owners of the recovered tools and are asking anyone who has recently had tools stolen to file a report with Niagara Regional Police.
