Police make arrest in St. Catharines after call about a man with a gun and drugs

Niagara Regional Police responded to Richard Pierpoint Park in St. Catharines after receiving reports of a man allegedly armed with a handgun and carrying fentanyl.

On Monday, September 29, officers arrived quickly and located the suspect near Oakdale Avenue and Gale Crescent. 

While no firearm was found, police discovered a significant quantity of narcotics and items consistent with drug trafficking.

As a result, 33-year-old Trevor Bentz, of no fixed address, was arrested. 

He was found with roughly 105 grams of suspected fentanyl, 247 hydromorphone pills, and $2,646 in cash. Bentz is facing drug trafficking charges.
