Police looking to identify donated urn with creamated remains

Niagara Regional Police are seeking the public’s help after cremated remains were found at the West Lincoln Community Care Thrift Store.

A sealed wooden urn was dropped off at the store’s donation bay sometime between November 19 and 20.

It’s not yet known whether the remains are human or animal. The urn has a six-digit number, 528395 marked on the underside of the lid, believed to be an identification number.

Detectives are asking anyone who may recognize the urn or the number, including those familiar with cremation industry practices, to contact police so the remains can be returned to their rightful owner.
