Police investigating serious crash in Niagara On The Lake

Collision occurred at Four Mile Creek Road and Line 7 Road

Niagara Regional Police are investigating a serious crash in Niagara-on-the-Lake that sent multiple people to hospital.

Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Four Mile Creek Road and Line 7 Road around 5:46 p.m. Tuesday following a two-vehicle collision.

Police say a white 2005 GMC Sierra pickup and a black 2020 Toyota Corolla collided in the intersection. The driver of the pickup, a 51-year-old woman from Niagara-on-the-Lake, was not injured.

The 49-year-old woman driving the Toyota, along with one passenger, was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Two other passengers suffered serious injuries and were transported to out-of-region hospitals—one of them airlifted by Ornge Air Ambulance.

The road was closed for several hours and reopened just after 10 p.m. Both vehicles were heavily damaged and towed from the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
