City matched Rotary Club's initial funding amount
The City and the Rotary Club of St. Catharines Lakeshore have unveiled a new Peace Pole and water bottle filling station at Charles Ansell Gateway Park.
The Peace Pole features the message “May Peace Prevail on Earth” in four languages, as part of a global movement promoting peace and understanding.
The new water station will provide fresh drinking water for visitors and users of the Welland Canals Parkway Trail, while encouraging the use of reusable bottles and reducing plastic waste.
The projects were supported through the City’s Parks Legacy Fund and reflect Rotary’s focus on peacebuilding and environmental sustainability.
