20 stolen vehicles recovered
Niagara Police have arrested three Hamilton teens in connection with a vehicle theft ring targeting Lexus and Toyota models across Niagara and the GTA.
The investigation began on April 20, when a 2024 Lincoln was reported stolen and later recovered. Detectives believe thieves used electronic tracking devices to locate and steal vehicles from residential areas, which were then transported to Montreal and shipped overseas to Iraq.
Search warrants executed in Hamilton uncovered 20 stolen vehicles, $53,000 in cash, and an airsoft pistol.
In total, police believe the group is linked to the theft of 50 vehicles.
Eighteen-year-old Abdulhamid Talip and two 17-year-olds, all from Hamilton, face multiple charges.
