Ontario investing $20M to festivals in 2026, including some in Niagara

The Ontario government is investing more than $20 million to support nearly 400 festivals and events through the Experience Ontario 2026 program, aimed at boosting tourism, creating jobs and celebrating local culture.

The funding helps communities host events with strong tourism impact, offering experiences for residents and visitors alike.

Supported events range from food, music and arts festivals to Francophone and Indigenous celebrations.

In Niagara, Grimsby Lights & Après Winter Nights is among the recipients.

The province says the investment strengthens tourism, a key economic driver that supports jobs and generates billions in revenue.
