The City of Niagara Falls has received $4.7 million from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation for hosting Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara during the second quarter.
That brings the city’s total payments for OLG’s current fiscal year to $10.79 million. Since the opening of Niagara’s first casino in December 1996, the city has received $243.7 million in total.
These payments are part of OLG’s Municipality Contribution Agreement, which uses a consistent, graduated scale based on gaming revenue at each land-based casino site in Ontario.
Across the province, host communities have received nearly $2.3 billion in non-tax gaming revenue since 1994.
