The City of Niagara Falls has received nearly $3.9 million from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation for the third quarter, covering October through December, for hosting Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara.
So far this fiscal year, the city has received more than $14.6 million, bringing the total paid to Niagara Falls since 1996 to nearly $248 million.
These payments are part of OLG’s Municipality Contribution Agreement, which uses a consistent, graduated scale based on gaming revenue at each land-based casino site in Ontario.
Across the province, host communities have received nearly $2.3 billion in non-tax gaming revenue since 1994.
