Old Town is now officially designated as a Heritage Conservation District following Niagara On The Lake Town Council’s approval.
The new plan outlines how changes within the district will be managed to preserve its historic character, including policies for development and alterations.
It applies to more than 500 properties and highlights those with cultural heritage significance.
If no appeals are received by April 11, the by-law comes into force following the conclusion of the appeal period.
