The Niagara Regional Police Explosive Disposal Unit and Emergency Task Unit will be carrying out training exercises today in Thorold, in the area of Thorold Townline Road and Old Thorold Stone Road, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Residents may notice a larger police presence, along with the sound of explosions, simulated gunfire, and smoke as part of the training. Signs will be posted in the area to alert the public.
Police are asking people to avoid the training sites for their own safety and to ensure the exercises can be conducted without interruption.
