It was a smooth St. Patrick’s Day on Niagara roads, with no impaired driving charges reported.
Niagara Regional Police say RIDE checks were set up in St. Catharines, Niagara Falls and Thorold, where more than 300 vehicles were stopped. About 30 drivers were asked to provide breath samples, all of which came back clear.
Officers did issue 22 tickets for other violations, including driving with a suspended licence and without valid insurance.
