The Niagara Regional Police Service is launching a new Neighbourhood Watch program aimed at encouraging residents to look out for one another and report concerns to police.
Officials say the initiative is community-led and focused on awareness, prevention and responsible information sharing.
Police stress that Neighbourhood Watch is not about enforcement, and crimes should always be reported directly to authorities rather than only on social media.
The NRPS says its CORE Unit will provide guidance, resources and support to organized groups across the region.
