NRPS seeking suspect in connection to weapons incident in Port Colborne

Niagara Regional Police are investigating a weapons incident in Port Colborne.

This morning, police were called to an area east of the Welland Canal and south of Durham Street and have since contained the incident to two homes - one on Fares Street north of Louis Street and a second on Mitchell Street between Nickel Street and Decew Street.

Police say 27-year-old Brady Neff is wanted for possession of a firearm, after police surrounded a home in Port Colborne this morning. If seen, police say DO NOT approach him, and instead contact police immediately. Neff is considered armed and dangerous.

As of Wednesday morning, police were asking residents in the area to remain inside and lock their doors until the suspect has been apprehended. Eyewitness reports from residents in the area allege there was a shooting early this morning, and that they have been advised by police to stay away from the scene.

Out of an abundance of caution, parents with children in the area are asked to drive their child directly to school or keep them at home. Local schools Dewitt Carter Public School, Lakeshore Catholic High School, Ecole St. Joseph and St. Therese Catholic Elementary School have been put into a Hold and Secure.
