Niagara Regional Police are asking residents to avoid the area of Bunting Road and Carlton Street this morning.
A post on the force's social media page says there's a heavy police presence in the area.
Police say that one male has been shot and is being transported to an out-of-region hospital by Niagara EMS. There will be a heavy police presence in the area for some time, and are asking motorists to take alternate routes this morning as they investigate.
