2026 marks the third year of the academy
The Niagara Regional Police Service is bringing back its Citizen Police Academy for 2026, giving residents a behind-the-scenes look at how policing works across the region.
Now in its third year, the program offers hands-on activities, presentations and conversations with police officers and civilian members.
Participants will learn more about investigations, traffic enforcement, tactical operations and the many ways NRPS works to keep the community safe.
Police say the academy is not a training program, but an opportunity to build relationships, ask questions and better understand modern policing.
The eight-week program begins in October, with applications open until August 7th at 6pm.
