Niagara police are reminding drivers to slow down and pay attention around schools following a weeklong traffic safety blitz.
Project Safe Start put officers at schools across the region at various times to educate the public and crack down on traffic violations.
Police made hundreds of stops, issuing 188 tickets and 152 warnings, while eight people were arrested.
The arrests included one outstanding warrant and seven drug-related offences, and police say traffic enforcement around Niagara schools will continue even though the project is now over.
