The Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority is warning of a potential flooding risk across the region, including parts of southeastern Hamilton and eastern Haldimand County.
Up to 60 millimetres of rain is expected from late Monday into Wednesday, and with already saturated ground, localized flooding is possible.
Smaller waterways, including 12 Mile Creek in Pelham, Welland, and Thorold, as well as 4 Mile Creek in Niagara-on-the-Lake, can rise quickly during heavy storms. However, widespread or significant flooding is not expected at this time.
Water levels in creeks and rivers may rise, especially in low-lying areas, though widespread flooding is not expected.
