The Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority and its foundation partner are expanding tree planting across the watershed with a $65,000 grant from the Niagara Community Foundation.
This spring’s Trees for All program will cover about two hectares at five sites to restore forests, boost biodiversity, and strengthen climate resilience.
The effort launched on Earth Day in Fort Erie with 500 native trees planted along Thunder Bay Road.
More projects are planned in Wainfleet, Niagara-on-the-Lake, and Niagara Falls, with support from municipalities, community groups, and the federal 2 Billion Trees Program.
Residents can get involved through upcoming plantings.
