The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake is moving ahead with targeted vegetation management this summer to help control invasive plants and improve road safety.
Town crews will use selective herbicide applications to treat invasive phragmites and manage vegetation around municipal guiderails where needed.
Officials say the work follows an Integrated Vegetation Management approach, with herbicides used only when they're considered the safest and most effective option.
The Town says all applications will be completed by licensed professionals and carried out under provincial regulations to protect the environment while maintaining safe roads.
