Niagara-on-the-Lake is reviewing its policies around on-farm diversified uses and agritourism.

The Town says the goal is to support farmers looking to diversify their operations and strengthen the agricultural economy, while protecting farmland for future generations.

The review will look at activities such as agritourism and other appropriate farm-based businesses, with input from farmers, agricultural businesses and the broader community.

The Town has hired WSP Canada to lead the review.

Officials stress this is exploratory and will not immediately change municipal policies.

Any proposed changes would go through public consultation and Council approval.
