A Niagara-on-the-Lake man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run that seriously injured a pedestrian in St. Catharines.

Police say 20-year-old woman was struck by an early 2000s white Ford Econoline van on King Street between Academy and Court Streets Thursday evening, and the driver failed to stop.

On Friday afternoon, detectives with the Collision Reconstruction Unit spotted the suspect vehicle being driven by 31-year-old Daniel Debon, who was arrested.

Debon is charged with failing to stop at the scene of an accident causing bodily harm and was released on an undertaking with a future court date.
