The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake announced the appointment of Nick Ruller as its new Chief Administrative Officer, effective immediately.
To support a smooth transition, Lord Mayor Gary Zalepa has, for the first time, exercised the Strong Mayor Powers—granted to the Town on May 1, by formally delegating oversight of municipal staff operations to CAO Ruller.
This delegation empowers the CAO to lead the administration with full authority, including determining the Town’s organizational structure and overseeing employment and staffing matters.
These responsibilities reflect the Town’s commitment to strong, accountable leadership and delivering high-quality service to residents.
The move underscores the Lord Mayor’s focus on collaboration and effective governance through the strategic use of newly granted provincial powers.
