Two Niagara landmarks lit up in white this weekend to mark the start of Invisible Disabilities Week.
The Niagara Sign at Lock 3 in Thorold and the Peace Bridge in Fort Erie are part of a national campaign, which is led by Mississauga disability advocate Lauren Pires, who has secured lighting displays at 15 landmarks across Ontario, British Columbia and New Brunswick.
The goal is to raise awareness of disabilities that aren’t always visible, including chronic illness, pain, fatigue, mental health and learning disabilities.
