Region thanking provincial government for sending emergency support
Niagara’s Acting Regional Chair Tom Insinna says the Region is standing with residents impacted by the recent flooding.
In a statement, Insinna acknowledged the damage caused by severe storms over the past two weeks, including flooded homes, damaged businesses and families facing the challenges of recovery.
He says while local and regional infrastructure performed as expected, the amount of rainfall that fell in such a short time was beyond what any municipal system could handle.
The Region is thanking the Province for providing emergency support, while staff continue working with local municipalities to help residents, clear debris and begin the recovery process.
Insinna says the road ahead won’t be easy, but Niagara will continue working together to rebuild.
