Finding a family doctor or nurse practitioner in Niagara is getting easier.
The Niagara Practitioners’ Healthcare Alliance, Niagara Region Economic Development, and the Niagara Ontario Health Team have launched a new initiative that connects residents to primary care providers through Primary Care System Navigators.
Navigators work one-on-one with residents to fill out forms, locate nearby clinics, arrange first appointments, and follow up to ensure success.
Their services are culturally safe, people-focused, and designed to reduce frustration for those without a provider.
Residents can also search for available doctors and clinics through the Niagara Region’s Find a Doctor webpage, and new “Connect to Care” materials will appear in over 1,600 community locations this month.
