Niagara Public Health marks Canadian Public Health Week with milestones in community care

It’s Canadian Public Health Week, and Niagara Region Public Health and Emergency Services are highlighting the work that keeps our community healthy.

Last year, teams provided over 1,100 infant feeding sessions, 3,500 home visits, nearly 25,000 school dental screenings, 300 immunization clinics, and 10,000 food inspections.

Emergency crews answered more than 100,000 911 calls, distributed thousands of naloxone kits, and administered more than 24,000 vaccines.

Public Health says prevention, early intervention, and strong community partnerships are key to keeping Niagara residents and visitors safe and healthy, and they’ll be sharing more highlights throughout April.
