Niagara Parks moving ahead with breakwall work in Fort Erie

Niagara Parks is moving ahead with shoreline protection and restoration work along the Niagara River breakwall in Fort Erie, with repairs now scheduled for the adjacent Niagara River Recreation Trail.

Crews will repair damaged sections of the trail between Old Fort Erie and Mather’s Arch. Work is expected to finish by Friday, September 26.

To ensure safety, fencing will surround the work zone, and sections of the trail will be closed on a rotating basis to allow continued public access where possible.

The project may result in temporary inconveniences, including traffic delays, construction noise, dust, and frequent truck traffic along the Niagara Parkway.
