Niagara Parks employees reach tentative deal to avoid 850 worker strike

A deal has been reached for Niagara Parks workers, according to its union.

OPSEU Local 217 says a tentative deal has been reached, after workers had been working without a contract since 2025.

The deal means that over 850 Niagara Parks employees will remain on the job today, as a strike was set to start if no deal was reached.

Employees are set to look over the tentative deal and vote on it Friday.

This is the second set of negotiations in the last few years, after a tentative deal was reached in June 2024.
