Organization ended the year with $26-million deficit
Niagara Health has released its 2024 annual report.
The health authority says the last year has seen major developments at the South Niagara Hospital, which is set to open in 2028.
The hospital system also invested in new digital tools, launching a fully connected electronic health record to improve care coordination.
Niagara Health adds that emergency departments saw improvements including new support staff and redesigned spaces, while a new Chief of Primary Care was appointed to strengthen community healthcare ties. Efforts also expanded in Indigenous health and equity-focused services.
Despite these advancements, the organization ended the year with a $26M deficit on $801M in revenue.
