Niagara Falls man charged in connection to human trafficking investigation

Niagara Regional Police say an investigation began this month after allegations surfaced involving physical abuse of a person under the age of 16. Due to concerns of child labour exploitation, the Human Trafficking Unit was brought in to assist.

Following the investigation, a 30-year-old man from Niagara Falls has been arrested and charged with assault, trafficking a person under 18, receiving a material benefit from trafficking a person under 18, and possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000.

To protect the victim’s identity, police are not releasing further details.

Investigators are asking anyone who purchased items through Facebook Marketplace at a residence near Lundy’s Lane and Highland Avenue between June 2023 and January 2026 to contact Niagara Regional Police.
