Niagara Regional Police have charged a 71-year-old Niagara Falls man following an investigation into hate-related graffiti across the city.
Police say the investigation began in March after hate speech was spray painted on several buildings in Niagara Falls.
Officers investigated 11 separate vandalism incidents on Queen Street, Bridge Street, Erie Avenue, and Zimmerman Avenue.
As a result of the investigation, police arrested 71-year-old Pierre Vaillant on May 8th. He’s charged with mischief under five-thousand dollars.
Vaillant was released with a future court date.
Investigators believe there may be additional incidents that were never reported and are asking anyone with information to contact Niagara Regional Police.
