A major water main break caused flooding at Niagara Falls Hospital on Saturday, but thanks to the efforts of Niagara Health teams and community partners - Niagara Health says patient care was minimally disrupted.
Staff acted quickly to relocate a small number of patients and procedures, while emergency services remained open and stroke care continued uninterrupted.
Ambulances were briefly redirected but are now being accepted again, while remediation work is ongoing at both Niagara Falls and Welland hospitals, with operating rooms in Welland expected to reopen by the end of July.
