Total since 1996 now up to $256-million
Niagara Falls has received more than $5.5 million from OLG for hosting Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara during the first quarter of the fiscal year.
The payment covers the period from April 1 to June 30, and now means since casino gaming began in the city in 1996, Niagara Falls has received more than $256 million through OLG's host municipality program.
OLG says the payments support local communities while proceeds from casino gaming are reinvested across Ontario.
