Six new Niagara Falls firefighters are giving back to the community before they even finish their training.

The recruit class will climb the 660 stairs to the top of the Skylon Tower on September 11th, raising money for Project SHARE and the Niagara Health Foundation.

Each recruit will make the climb four times in full bunker gear, marking the 25th anniversary of 9/11 and honouring the first responders who lost their lives.

The climb gets underway at 10 a.m.

Donations can be made by e-transfer, cheque or cash during the event, with all money going toward the two local causes.
