Niagara Falls FD launching 'Older Adults Fire Chief for a Day' challenge to keep seniors safe

The City of Niagara Falls Fire Department is launching a new fire safety contest for older adults, encouraging those 60 and over to assess hazards in their homes and create safety plans ahead of Seniors Month.

The “Older Adults Fire Chief for a Day Challenge” kicks off May 6 at the MacBain Community Centre with a presentation, refreshments, and contest materials.

Fire Prevention Officer A.J. Lunn will share practical safety tips, and participants are invited to complete a home checklist and submit an entry explaining why they should be named Fire Chief for a Day.

Submissions, written or video are due by June 1.
