Niagara District Airport aiming for 600k passengers a year by 2045

Niagara District Airport has unveiled its 20-year Master Plan, outlining a major transformation into a modern regional airport with commercial passenger service.

The redevelopment is expected to generate more than $1 billion in economic impact and attract over seven million passengers to the region over the next 20 years.

Planned upgrades include runway and terminal expansions, additional parking, and federal security and customs facilities.

With the ability to handle nearly 600,000 passengers a year by the end of the plan, the Airport says improved air access will boost tourism and support local jobs.
