Niagara College is joining a province-wide effort to strengthen emergency response.
The college has been named the latest partner in Ontario Corps, a network of volunteers and organizations ready to support communities before, during and after emergencies.
Through the partnership, Niagara College students, staff and faculty will be encouraged to volunteer, while the college will share its expertise in emergency management and preparedness.
Ontario says the network can be deployed within 24 to 72 hours to provide resources, equipment and support during major emergencies.
