New wastewater plant, expanded GO Train service among hot topics at Queen's Park Niagara Week

Niagara Region has wrapped up three days of meetings at Queen’s Park, pushing for stronger provincial partnerships on transit, housing, and infrastructure.

During Niagara Week, Regional Councillors and staff met with Ontario ministers to discuss key priorities, including funding a new wastewater treatment plant in South Niagara, expanding two-way, all-day GO train service, and addressing the housing and homelessness crisis through more supportive housing options.

The Region also teamed up with the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce for a networking reception that showcased local talent and investment opportunities.

Officials say the talks were productive and that follow-up meetings with ministries will continue in the coming months.
