The Niagara Catholic District School Board says Director of Education Camillo Cipriano is stepping down after six years with the board.
Trustees say Cipriano has accepted a position with another publicly funded school board in Ontario, with his final day at Niagara Catholic set for June 5th.
Cipriano, who was named Director in 2020, helped lead Niagara Catholic through the COVID-19 pandemic and oversaw growth of nearly 5,000 students, along with improved math and literacy results.
Associate Director of Education & Corporate Services Giancarlo Vetrone has been named Interim Director of Education effective immediately, while Cipriano remains in the role through June 5th.
