The City of Welland held an information night for all Niagara residents looking to run in the upcoming municipal elections later this year.
City and town representatives from across the region were there to answer questions and help potential candidates understand the process.
Tara Stephens, Welland City Clerk and Director of Legislative Services, says they also clear up misconceptions people might have about running, such as eligibility requirements.
Stephens also says it's important to help nominees gain a better understanding of how municipal politics works.
