MPP Wayne Gates calls on provincial government to restrict ticket scalpers

As Jays fans get ready for tonight's World Series game one, many will be watching from home as tickets aren't affordable for them.

Ticket prices for the first two games of the World Series are in the thousands for most seats, meaning many will have to watch from the couch.

MPP Wayne Gates says he'd like to see an anti-scalping law in place, and is continuing calls to the provincial government to do so.

In recent days, Ford has mentioned the possibility of doing something about scalpers raising ticket prices for Jays games, as well as other things like big concert tours.

Gates says this is something they should be acting on.

There was previous legislation that capped ticket resellers at 50% of the original ticket cost, meaning a $100 ticket couldn't be sold for more than $150.

Game one goes tonight at 8:00pm.
