Niagara Falls NDP MPP Wayne Gates is urging the Ontario government to make Prostate-Specific Antigen testing free under OHIP, saying it’s a simple step that could save lives through early detection of prostate cancer.
Speaking at Queen’s Park alongside Independent MPP Bobbi Ann Brady, Green Party Leader Mike Schreiner, and representatives from the Canadian Cancer Society, Prostate Cancer Foundation Canada, and the Niagara Prostate Group, Gates called on Premier Doug Ford to remove financial barriers to testing.
Gates said prostate cancer remains the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Canadian men and that Ontario should take a compassionate, common-sense approach to prevention.
