Motorcycle Safety Week means riders, car drivers need to pay attention to one another

With temperatures arriving and motorcycles returning to the roads, the Ontario Provincial Police is reminding everyone to put safety first as Motorcycle Safety Week runs from May 1 through May 7.

The annual campaign promotes awareness and encourages riders and drivers to adopt safer habits.

Motorcyclists face higher risks in collisions, though many crashes are preventable with attentiveness.

Riders should stay focused, ride within their abilities, and ensure bikes are maintained.

Meantime, drivers must watch for motorcycles, give space, and respect them. Road safety is shared, helping reduce injuries and fatalities.
