A boost is coming for West Lincoln’s environment.
The Township has received more than $11,000 from the Niagara Community Foundation to support the Roots for Resilience project along the Smithville Nature Path.
The funding will help plant 38 native trees near Wade Road, strengthening a flood-prone creek bank, reducing erosion and improving wildlife habitat.
Township staff say volunteers from the West Lincoln Green Team and students from Smithville Christian High School will help complete the planting later this month.
