Man stabbed in Welland’s Bemus Park

Police seeking witnesses and video footage

Niagara Regional Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed during a Sunday evening altercation in Bemus Park.

Officers were called around 9 p.m. to the area of McArthur Avenue and Dieppe Street, where a man had fled to seek help after being stabbed multiple times. Police say the incident began with a confrontation involving four individuals near Coventry Road.

The victim was able to escape the scene and reach a nearby home for assistance, while the three other individuals fled on foot.

The Domestic Violence Unit has taken over the investigation and is asking residents with surveillance or dashcam footage from between 8:30 and 9:00 p.m. near Bemus Park to contact them.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing. Tips can be submitted to police or anonymously through Crime Stoppers of Niagara.
