Man arrested after allegedly stealing cellphone from stabbing victim

A second arrest has been made following a stabbing in downtown St. Catharines last fall.

48-year-old Mark Formanek, of no fixed address, has previously been charged with attempted murder after the October 5th incident near Niagara and Queenston streets.

Detectives have also charged a second suspect, 36-year-old Kyle Cormier, with theft under $5,000 for allegedly taking the victim’s phone after the stabbing.

The victim is expected to make a full recovery.
