A major rail manufacturing investment is coming to Thorold.
voestalpine Railway Systems Nortrak Canada will build a special trackwork manufacturing facility under a long-term agreement with Canadian National.
The plant is expected to strengthen Canada's rail supply chain while creating skilled jobs in Niagara.
The new facility is scheduled to open in the fall of 2027.
