Motorists in Niagara-on-the-Lake will have an alternate route starting September 1st to avoid construction on Niagara Stone Road, between Line 1 Road and East and West Line.
Niagara Stone Road will remain open throughout the project, but traffic will be reduced to one lane during construction hours.
Drivers heading southwest can take East and West Line west, then Four Mile Creek Road south, while northeast-bound motorists can take Four Mile Creek Road north and East and West Line east.
The detour will remain in place until the project wraps up in spring 2027, although drivers can still use Niagara Stone Road when conditions allow.
Emergency services will continue to have access through the construction zone.
