A limousine driver is facing impaired driving charges after police say his own passengers forced him to pull over on the QEW out of fear for their safety.
On Friday, July 11 at 10:56 p.m., Burlington OPP responded to reports of an erratic limo near Fifty Road in Hamilton.
One of the ten passengers told police they had the driver pull onto the shoulder and took away the keys, suspecting he was impaired. Another motorist also called in the limo’s erratic driving.
Officers arrived, spoke with the group, and arrested the driver. Breath tests were conducted at the Niagara detachment. No injuries or collision were reported.
64-year-old Mathew Owusu-Afriyie of Toronto has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle.
